Mobile Developer /Technical Writer-Developer Docs.

Our client, a multinational technology company that specializes in Internet-related services and products, is looking for a Mobile Developer/Technical Writer-Developer Docs.

Initial 12 month contract, with a view to longer term work.

This work is 100% remote- based in Ireland or United Kingdom.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining and writing new developer documentation

• Serving as copyeditor for documentation contributions

• Testing / dogfooding APIs in order to better author content

• Working with Engineering teams in London to understand new features

Skills/Qualifications:

• 5+ years Android/mobile development + some TW experience

• Technical aptitude with the ability to code in Java, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose

• Ability to prioritize and manage your own work with minimal oversight

• Proficiency with HTML, XML, Markdown, Jinja, Linux, and GitHub, which means:

  • You can author a document solely in HTML, XML, or Markdown

  • You can use dynamic Jinja variables, filters, and macros inline with static content

  • You can fork GitHub repos and maintain them on a local machine, create and review pull requests, and manage issues

  • You can use the Linux command line to install and update packages, run scripts, and manipulate files

• Ability to design and implement single-sourced reusable content, such as in DITA

• Familiarity with open source projects such as Chromium and Android

• Android development experience, or ability to use Android Studio and test unreleased apps, a plus
